What is dEssence?

dEssence is an AI-powered personal knowledge companion. Save anything you come across on the web — articles, images, videos, product pages, recipes, travel ideas — and dEssence helps you organize, recall, and act on it through natural conversation with an AI chat.

The extension lets you:

  • Save text selections, images, and full pages to your pinboard
  • Organize saved content into boards and spaces
  • Ask the AI questions about what you've saved and get recommendations
  • Access your knowledge from any device through the web app

Getting Started

Installing the Extension

  1. Open the Chrome Web Store and search for "dEssence"
  2. Click "Add to Chrome" and confirm the installation
  3. Pin the extension to your toolbar for quick access
  4. Open the side panel and create your account or sign in

Creating an Account

Creating an account takes seconds. You'll need a User ID and, optionally, an email address for account recovery. No credit card required to get started.

Saving Your First Item

There are several ways to save content with dEssence:

  • Right-click menu — select text or an image and choose "Save to Pinboard"
  • Side panel — open the dEssence side panel and paste links or drop images
  • Keyboard shortcut — use the extension's shortcut to quickly capture the current page

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my data private?

Yes. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties. Your saved content and conversations are used only to provide the Service and personalize your experience. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Does dEssence work offline?

Some features (like viewing previously saved items cached in your browser) work offline. AI chat and new saves require an internet connection.

Which browsers are supported?

The extension currently supports Chromium-based browsers such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, and Arc. Support for other browsers is on our roadmap.

Can I export my data?

Yes. You can request an export of your saved content and chat history by contacting us at support@dessence.ai.

How do I delete my account?

To delete your account and all associated data, send a request to support@dessence.ai. We will process deletion within 30 days.

The extension isn't working — what should I do?

  1. Make sure the extension is updated to the latest version
  2. Try signing out and signing back in
  3. Disable and re-enable the extension in chrome://extensions
  4. If the issue persists, email us with a description of the problem and, if possible, a screenshot
